Take a bow; you've let your inner star out! You have earned your moment of stardom on the prestigious Sandals stage. We make your performance under the spotlight look great. Be awarded the coveted Sandals Star and you will feel like the celebrities on the Hollywood star walk of fame.

Boonoonoos Beach Party

This sumptuous Island soiree showcases exciting fire blowers, limbo dancers, fun and games all in a tropical setting on a tikki torch lit beach. Dance through our Caribbean town square with your "boonoonoos" (loved one) and experience island artisans at work under the influence of the Caribbean beat.

Down the Pub

It's the place where the bartender knows your name and you can enjoy traditional pub grub and good ol' British 'banter'. As the lights dim, raise your pint, have a karaoke 'sing- song' or pit your wits against the rest with an entertaining pub quiz. Later, hit the dance floor as the DJ spins the latest tunes.

Experience a Caribbean explosion as the Beaches and Sandals Dance Ensemble performs a variety of dances from the region. We will take you on a magical journey through performances from Bahamas, Cuba, Barbados, Trinidad & Tobago, Antiqua, St. Lucia and Jamaica.

Calypso

A style of Afro-Caribbean music originated in Trinidad and Tobago. This modern music dates back to the early 1900's calypso further evolved into a way of spreading news around Trinidad. Politicians, journalists and public figures often debated the content of each song, and many islanders considered these songs the most reliable news source.

Rake & Scrape / Ripsaw

A musical originated in the Turks and Caicos Islands, specifically in the Middle and North Caicos. A very closely related variant, rake-and-scrape, is played in the Bahamas. Its most distinctive characteristic is the use of the common handsaw as the primary instrument, along with various kinds of drums, box guitar, concertina, triangle and accordion.

What is Mento Music?

Mento music emerged as a distinct style of Jamaica in the early 1900s. Although its roots run much deeper, Mento much like other Caribbean folk music, is a blending of African and Latin rhythms with Anglo folksongs. Mento found its greatest popularity in the 1940s and 1950s in Jamaica, before Rocksteady and Reggae became the predominant musical styles. Typical instruments used in Mento music are the banjo, acoustic guitar, a home- made saxophone, clarinet or flute made from bamboo, a variety of hand percussion and a rumba box.

Steeldrum / Pan

The steelpan (The National Instrument of Trinidad & Tobago) is the only new acoustic musical instrument to be invented and accepted worldwide in the 20th century. The Steel pan (Pan) (often referred to as Steeldrums), is a percussion instrument made from a 55 gallon drum. This musical instrument was invented in Trinidad & Tobago during the (1930s) in the period around the time of the 2nd world war. You can enjoy these melodic songs being played emphatically around our resorts.
